CAT 5e Data Cabling Installation
CAT 5 and CAT 5e Ethernet cable remains the popular choice for most wired LAN's due to reduced costs and ease of installation.
PME Project's data cabling installation and network engineers are highly qualified and skilled at installing both category 5 (CAT 5) and Category 5e (CAT 5e) Data Cabling as well as CAT 5e wall sockets for both office computer networks and Local Area Networks (LAN's).
PME Projects regularly install full infrastructure data cabling systems quickly and efficiently with minimum disruption of business.
CAT 5 and CAT 5e Cabling Explained
CAT 5 is a type of Ethernet network cable standard. CAT 5 cable contains four pairs of twisted copper wire and supports fast Ethernet speeds (up to 100 Mbps). As with all other types of twisted pair data cabling, CAT5 cable runs are limited to a maximum recommended run length of 100m and is suitable for most offices and retail shops.
Although CAT 5 cable usually contains four pairs of copper wire, most fast Ethernet communications using CAT 5 cabling only utilise two pairs. CAT 5e cables, however, support networking at speeds up to 1000 Mbps (gigabit) over short distances by utilising all four copper wire pairs and is backward-compatible with ordinary CAT5.
Twisted pair cable like CAT 5 and Cat 5e is available in both solid and stranded wires. Solid CAT 5e wiring supports longer length runs and works best in fixed wiring configurations like office buildings and small computer networks.
Stranded CAT 5e cable is better suited for shorter-distance, movable cabling such as patch cabling. RJ-45 connectors are then used to connect the cabling and to allow network connections to computers and network devices.
